Neath Port Talbot

Croeso I Gymru (that’s “Welcome to Wales”).  In this wonderful part of Wales you’ll discover a wealth of things to see and do.  We’ve everything from historic castles to some of the best mountain bike trails in the world, from outdoor theatre to top-class rugby.  Country parks, cascading waterfalls and beautiful gardens will suit the more relaxed visitor.  For the more adventurous there’s a huge range of sporting activities available, from horse-riding to mountain biking. Our dramatic landscape takes you from the mountains to the sea, offering some breathtaking views - which means it’s just perfect for walkers.  And of course wherever you go and wherever you stay, everything will be served up with a traditional Welsh welcome.

You may wish to start your visit with us at Aberdulais Falls, a National Trust property, where you can see our wonderful waterfall and learn all about our industrial heritage.  The waterfall here has been used to power the wheels of industry for over four hundred years, making it one of the oldest industrial sites in Wales.  Copper smelting was first established here in 1584.  The buildings that remain today are from the 19th-century tinplate industry and it is this story that the site tells.

We also have a tearoom serving delicious home-made food, which is run by the volunteers, The Friends of Aberdulais Falls. In addition to this, one of our experienced staff will be able to give you more information about attractions and events in the area.
