A County steeped in history from Garn Coch the Iron Age Fort, through the establishment of Fort Moridunum at Carmarthen by the Romans. Numerous castles are scattered around our coastline and countryside. From the sea defences at Laugharne and Llansteffan to the awe inspiring mountain top castle Carreg Cennen.

Carmarthen, Llanelli and Ammanford are the County’s main towns. But many of our smaller towns hold an uniqueness and are important to our rural communities. Laugharne famous for it’s once resident the poet Dylan Thomas and Pendine for it’s sandy beach and the venue for the ‘World land speed record’ also home to ‘Babs’ the legendary car that broke down and was buried in the sand where she landed(she now resides in the museum of speed in Pendine). Kidwelly has a picturesque castle and Burry Port is world famous as Amelia Earhart, who became the female pilot to cross the Atlantic non-stop, landed here after her flight. Newcastle Emlyn and Llandeilo, the old capital of West Wales are quaint shopping towns full of independent and unique shops. Llandovery, an old Drover town and the gateway to the Brecon Beacons.

Parks and Gardens are in abundance in Carmarthenshire, home of the National Botanic Garden of Wales, the timeless garden of Aberglasney and the law inspired Hywel Dda Garden and Interpretive Centre are some of the most revered gardens in the UK. Pembrey Country Park with its Stunning beach front location also boasts a dry slope ski centre and toboggan run is a truly superb open space.

Brief GROUP TOUR Itinerary:


Depart from your choice of pick up point in your hometown giving plenty of time to make the leisurely journey to Carmarthen. Regular comfort stops and a lunch halt will be made en-route as traffic dictates

On reaching the hotel, the driver will unload the luggage for immediate check in. The rest of the evening is free at leisure


Free time in Carmarthen, take your choice of day excursions, stay 1,2,3,4 or 5 nights or more


After breakfast, we say a fond farewell to the hotel and its staff and rejoin the Five Star Travel coach for the return journey home. Comfort stops will be made at regular intervals when time and traffic allows
